Mount Belumut Expedition 24-25 January 2009

Chef d' Mission: bieeyah & mie
The mission is to conquer Mount Belumut...except for me who wanna have some relaxing moment and get the momentum kick-start of the recreational activities.
We start moving from my house at cheras nearly 830am, due to some technical problem. the original plan was to move at 8am and we are 30minutes late...
- reached R&R Seremban nearly 10am and meet the others there, who have been waiting us for ages...
- there were so many people at the R&R, most probably becoz of the long holidays...
- at 1030am, we start moving to Kluang Johor and met at the Ayer Itam Tol...around 12pm
- went to Kluang Railway Coffe Station first, but the place was closed at noon and open back at 230pm, then we move to another branch to have a lunch there.
- went to giant at Kluang Mall to buy chickens for dinner...mewah makan malam nie
- then, we start moving to the campsite...
i can't remember the road to Mount Belumut actually...it has been ages, i think, the last time i went to Mount Belumut was 14 years ago...still remember the fresh air of the mountain...with the cold weather up there...hmmm...so refreshing!
We reached the campsite nearly 4pm...setting up the tents and unpack the things was fun...dah lama tak buat bende2 macam nie. The area was closed due to the renovation progress was done at the campsite. And we are so lucky that we have the permit to enter the Hutan Lipur and stayed there. And, we are the only group conquering all the place...:) and it was nice to have the only group at the site...boleh conquer habis-habisan...heehehehe
The water in the river was shallow due to the kemarau season...dah lama dah tak hujan, air sungai pun cetek...
After setting up the tents, unpack the things...
All the rations was with pakoi and he still not arrive yet...so, masak air jer la...
nearly 5pm, the pakoi's team was arrived, with his 2 children and abg ayuz...
there were few things that have been missing...dah lama tak camping nyer pasal...barang2 ration pun ada yang takde...bende penting lak tu...
- garam lupa nak beli
- minyak masak tak cukup sampai ke esoknya...hehehehe
- jug air dan kuali pun takde - lupa la tu
nampaknyer skill preparation untuk camping kenela diasahkan balik
but...we manage to buy the things at the felda shop...nasib baik kedai bukak lagi...
cooking time starts at 6pm...some of the participants were enjoying the berendam dan terjun tiruk time at the river...
the menu for dinner...banyaknyer nak kene masak. Luckiliy, there were many helpers to potong-potong bawang, sayur and waiting for instructions from the chef...hehehe...chef duduk jer kat dapur sambil memasak. The menu:
- ikan goreng masin
- ikan masak sambal
- daging masak kicap
- sayur campur
- tauhu goreng masak sambal for shanti who's vegetarian
- nasi putih
there's also udang for supper - cekodok udang goreng
after dinner, we were having our ta'aruf, knowing each other better...and enjoying the hot tea at that time...pergh best, dapat teh panas malam2!
the first night in the jungle...dah lama dah tak tido berlantaikan tanah, berbumbungkan langit, bermuzikkan bunyi-bunyian hutan...walaupun tidonyer dalam khemah...tapi masih lagi nampak langit yang gelap dan bunyi-bunyian makhluk hutan...
we woke up ad 630am - performing subuh prayers then start preparing the food for breakfast...and food for climbers.
Breakfast :
- Nasi goreng ikan masin
- meehon goreng udang kering & meehon goreng sayur with tauhu goreng for shanti
- telur goreng
- ayam goreng (packing for climbers)
- and leftovers last night - daging masak kicap
9am - participants start hiking and climbing...with trekker
me and laboo, were the guardian of the campsite....memang intention tak nak naik pun, sebabnye dah terlepas cakap, kalau naik jugak...hari isnin la baru dapat turun campsite and one more thing, memang tak fit nak naik...naik tangga rumah yang tak tinggi mana pun dah mengah....
so, this time, let me be the cooker, the guardian, the campkeeper...kemas mana2 yang patut...and the best part is, dapat berendam tanpa gangguan dalam sungai, menikmati kesejukan dan kesegaran air sungai...nearly 2 hours.
dah puas berendam...started preparing the food for lunch...and for those climbers. When they reached the campsite, they will surely starving dan kebulur sebab kat atas sana memang sejuk yang amat bagi yang tak tahan sejuk la....
sunday - ujan turun pulak hari nie setelah lama tak hujan...
hujan turun sekejap-sekejap, then berenti...lepas tu turun lagi...lama lepas tu berenti...sampaila petang...
petangnya hujan turun lebat...mencurah-curah...

then - followed by others
and the last persons reached the campsite at 6pm was pakoi and his children, pokya, jay and sara
sara pancit giler...and almost everyone pancit...and almost everyone underestimate the mountain...dari bawah lagi dah cakap...senang jer gunung nie...hehehehe
tula...cakap besar!
they reached the campsite dengan keadaan yang lapar giler...nasib baik dah masak - laksa sarawak, meehoon sup dan kopi
we started to pack things...there was a heavy rain...basah lencun semua orang...
at nearly 7pm...we started moving out from the campsite after clearing all things and rubbish to be taken out from the campsite.
nak keluar dari campsite dah gelap dah...masalah la pulak...aku nie dah ler rabun silau....

the saravanan team dah gerak dulu, and they will be going to Melaka pulak...
keluar jer dari felda...then sampai ke Bandar Kluang, baru rasa lega sikit...lampu jalan dah ada...
We stop by at Restaurant Esah and having our dinner there. The dinner's on mie...makan free la kitorang malam tu...hehehehe
The dinner was great, with Mee Goreng Kerang, Murtabak and drinks...kenyang semua orang!
After that, everyone moved back...me and mie to KL, laboo and the geng to KL, pakoi and the geng to Kuantan-Terengganu...
It was really great to have them in this activities. Besides getting new friends, tanya-tanya khabar kawan-kawan dan senior-senior yang dah lama tak jupe and i also met a long lost friend, pakoi...hehehe...pakoi, great to have u and met u at Mount Belumut.
The journey back was tiring...however, it was great to have back the climbing momentum...and i promise myself to have a re-visited to Mount Belumut and reaching the top of the mountain!

Congratulation!!! Jalan ke gunung belumut dah berturap tar. kalau lupa beli garam gula asam ke apa ke jangan susah, kat felda kahang timur dan ulu dengar ada banyak kedai runcit buka sampai jam 10.00 malam.
aii x ramai plak participant yg join belumut? ari tu tgk mcm byk je list name dia. carsharf n wife pun x jadi pergi kah?
anyway congratz to kak bee even x not reach at top. hehhe. berkhidmat utk diorg pun ok gak kan.
heheheh....jom nany, next time ikut kitorang...InsyaAllah nak buat lagi kat Belumut nie...memang best walaupun dok kat campsite jer..:))
